Council

noun : A parochial church council (PCC) is the executive committee of a Church of England parish and consists of clergy and churchwardens of the parish, together with representatives of the laity.
Parochial church council PC Church of England
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the body that, with the Priest, steers the life of the church in its mission, witness and service in the parish. The PCC’s role is governed by law (the Parochial Church Councils (Powers) Measure 1956).  It is a charitable trust and PCC members are charitable trustees, and so all the provisions of charity law apply to their corporate responsibilities, financial management and decision making.

St John's PCC

Our Parochial Church Council operates a Portfolio system, where each Member assumes responsibility for a particular area of Council interest and becomes the member that investigates, acquires information about and gives guidance to Council for that subject.
The council member will have attained an enhanced DBS check to work with children, completed safeguarding training thought the Church of England and also a safeguarding course in domestic abuse and will follow safeguarding protocol.
Members of the public can contact any Member with a matter of concern, suggestion or interest, they may be able to answer your query straight away, or refer your query to the relevant portfolio holder and the Chair for further consideration and possible addition to the next meeting agenda.
