Hi, my name is Bridget Taylor-Connor, since 2012 I’ve been St John’s Tower Correspondent, meeting and greeting visiting bellringers and making sure the bells of St John’s are an integral part of Sharow village life.
In 2020 the bell tower was shut as the bells were covered in pigeon guano and unfit to ring . Wanting to have bells available to ring for local and national events, I co-ordinated “Sharow Bells Restoration: Appeal for a Peal” which successfully raised funding to clean the bells and the tower. I’m now liaising with bell specialists and funders to recast the bells and move the ringing room lower in the tower. If you love the sound of bells ringing in Sharow and would like to help fund “Sharow Bells Restoration: Appeal for a Peal" please get in touch. |
Nota bene:St John's is proud to be an inclusive church. We welcome everyone; irrespective of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality. Please get to know us across Church Teams, the Ministry Team, The Parochial Church Council of Friend's of St John's. You may not see yourself represented yet, but fist appearances are only that, and you'd be very welcome to join our community.
